PESA

Vision and Values

PESA is an independent think-tank promoting regional integration in SADC and providing research on the political economy of development in Africa.

Our vision is to advance knowledge that enables regional integration in SADC and to develop policy for a secure, prosperous and unified Africa.

Our culture and work are underpinned by the PESA Vision, which charts the direction for the organisation and our contribution to development in SADC and the rest of Africa. PESA’s mission is simple and complex at the same time: We exist to promote regional integration and help decisionmakers to take sustainable choices based on the best available political economy research and analysis. This may sound familiar or even similar to the goals of other think-tanks or policy research institutes. But, at PESA, our results are driven by a political economy understanding of the local context, analysis of the latest credible data, our highly experienced and technically qualified experts, and a passion for Africa and its people.
