Interview about the SADC Council of Ministers virtual meeting which was hosted by Mozambique as the incoming Chair of SADC. The discussion reviews the SADC Council of Ministers’ meeting agenda which focused on the SADC Executive Secretary resport, SADC Secretariat matters as well as progress towards continental and regional integration, report on the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 and its implications in the SADC Region, and the development of the SADC Post 2020 Agenda by the SADC Vision 2050 and the Revised Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030. The discussion evaluates the role of the SADC Secretariat in resolving regional issues and whether the issue of the Zimbabwean crisis will be on the agenda. The interview also discusses the dual conflicts in Zimbabwe and Mozambique which affect regional security and the recovery from COVID-19.
