Interview about the role of South African state-owned entities (SOEs) and how they can be reformed. The discussion reviews what is required to reform South African SOEs so that they can contribute meaningfully to economy and development. The discussion also evaluates whether South African SOEs needs to privatised, which require state support and what is needed to turn them around. The interview also reviews is at the core of SOE challenges and how the South African government can improve the performance of SOEs.
