Interview about the looming public debt crisis in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) focused on the its source and what governments can do to avert a fiscal crisis. The discussion evaluates the impact of public debt challenges and government defaulting on loan payments. The interview also proposes fiscal policy options for governments facing fiscal crisis due to shortage of foreign exchange, depreciation of domestic currencies and resulting higher cost of servicing public debt.
