Interview about Mozambique’s continuing public debt saga and the Kroll audit report findings. Kroll was appointed as the independent auditor to look into transactions by three Mozambican state-owned enterprises (SOEs) who were involved in a scandal about USD 2 billion worth of undisclosed debt. The report found a number of irregularities and sought further explanation and proof for USD 500-700 million worth of irregular expenditure from a number of transactions which were financed by Credit Suisse and the Russian VTB Bank.
